This project, we are required to design a designer's chair/seat. I registered myself to Group 4,
which is under the supervision of Mr Wan B.
We took the first step by making a mould of our backside, understanding our body form.
I chose to do with paper mache.
This picture above was taken at the photography studio.
THE MOULDING.
This was my slot.
We wet the soil underneath and sat on it to get the shape done before the layering of plastic and newspaper.

The leg/stand.
FINAL MOULD
Back to thoughts.
THE DESIGN: The mould then changed my previous design plan.
Due to mobility factor, I made my design of the chair petite.
These are some design developments in sketches.
Along the way, I thought of creating a hole at the back of the chair, minimizing cost and adding more value to it. It makes hanging possible to the chair. Thus saving and maximizing space.
presenting szejie's chair!
Drawing with white colour pencil is a new try for me. Looks different. But the white isn't sharp enough.
above: featuring the square hole, enabling chair to be hooked on wall.
THE RATIONAL behind: The chair functions as a low level seat, for low level working environment such as shoe wearing.
It can also serve as a step stool for children.
This easily assembled chair can be made out of wood and for the seat, shaped & layered plywood.
The seat can then be connected to the leg/stand by screws.
My favourite part of the chair? The square that makes a 'hole' lot of difference :)
